Who We Are

At Your Service

Creative.  Results-driven. Motivated.  Inquisitive.  Risk-taking. Innovative.  Spirited. Ethical.  Fun.   These attributes aren’t things easily discernable from a resume.  They are, however, the core characteristics Stratacomm looks for when someone wants to join us.

Those making the cut are a balance of seasoned professionals and rising stars. They are experts in transportation, energy and environment, infrastructure, defense and security, education, and healthcare, to name but a few areas.  They are digital experts, policy wonks, powerful writers, special events mavens, and media junkies.  This rich and varied blend of people and expertise allows us to build customized account groups that are tailored specifically for each client’s particular needs.  Our people embrace a challenge and dig in to help our clients win. We create a dynamic culture that brings out the collective’s very best work.

We value the individual and cultivate the team. Together, we work hard, have fun, and understand that our reputation is built (and maintained) by two things: unmatched client service and winning results.

Colleen Spitz

Account Director

  • Provides counsel and account management responsibility for infrastructure and transportation accounts
  • Manages strategic communications development, implementation and evaluation, including research, written communications, marketing collateral, media editorial and event planning for clients
  • Experience promoting local, state wide and national campaigns among various audiences and media outlets

Colleen started with Stratacomm in 2005 and played a primary role on infrastructure accounts including the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, the Intercounty Connector and the Frederick Douglass Bridge project.  Additionally, she led day-to-day efforts with Amtrak, promoting their Great American Stations initiative to key public officials and local business communities across the nation on the benefits of station renovation.  She also oversaw the launch of Amtrak’s new Mobile Security Team and worked hand-in-hand with Amtrak in message and collateral development for both internal and external audiences creating the ‘See Something, Say Something’ public education program to promote involvement and to ensure that passengers were aware of the important security measures.

In 2008, Colleen headed west back to her home state of California to dabble in politics and public affairs.  Colleen was with Navigators Global in their Sacramento office where she focused heavily on legislative issues nationally and state wide for large companies and trade associations.  She then took a front row seat on the Meg Whitman for Governor campaign where she managed the complex day-to-day schedule of the candidate and all event/meeting requests.  Colleen oversaw the scheduling team that handled all travel logistics and worked intimately with the candidate, campaign manager and each campaign department to best determine messaging priorities and goals for the statewide campaign schedule.  All told, the campaign held more than 700 events.

After campaign life, Colleen returned to Stratacomm in the summer of 2011.  A self-admitted political and history junkie, she is happy to return to Washington, D.C. where she will pay tribute to her west coast roots by finding the best Mexican food in town and enjoying a good glass of CA wine from time to time.  She graduated from Santa Clara University with degrees in Communications and Political Science and studied abroad in London where she served as a journalist and research assistant for The European Foundation.
